Manufactured Housing Division
Notice of Installation Enforcement Initiative
The Manufactured Housing Division is committed to the protection of Texas consumers by increasing compliance with all federal and state manufactured housing laws through education and enforcement. Although enforcement efforts are an important part of consumer protection, the Division relies heavily on the cooperation of the manufactured housing industry to be aware of and to follow all applicable laws and rules, whether as a manufacturer, retailer, broker, installer or salesperson.
Beginning January 1, 2021, the Manufactured Housing Division will begin an initiative focusing on the timely filing of Notices of Installations, also known as Form Ts. These notices must be filed with the Division within seven (7) days after the completed installation of a manufactured home and three (3) days for installers with a provisional license. The reason these notices must be timely reported is to enable the Division to inspect the installation of the homes, before they are skirted, to make certain that the homes are installed safely and within compliance.
The purpose of this announcement is to educate and inform the manufactured housing industry in advance of any enforcement action, in hopes of promoting voluntary compliance and reduce consumer complaints and enforcement action.
