The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 Program waiting list is closed.
TDHCA waiting list is closed. You can access your current status anytime on the Wait List Check by going to the website at: www.waitlistcheck.com.
The following status may apply:
Application Approved – you have an active application for the program and have been placed on the waiting list to be considered for housing assistance for the Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 program.
Inactive – your application has been certified ineligible for assistance due your application not being selected on the lottery.
Project Access Program information is now available.
Payment Standards by Zip Code and Bedroom Size, effective 1/1/2023. TDHCA serves areas in 34 counties statewide. Payment Standards should not be suggested as contract rents. Any rents requested will be confirmed through a rent reasonableness analysis conducted by TDHCA. Please find the payment standard for each bedroom size by zip code (PDF).
Utility Allowance is developed in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations 24 CFR 982.517 as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The effective date of these forms is 03/01/2023 for areas in TDHCA’s service areas. The most updated utility allowance charts can be found.
